    BLEPHAROPLASTY COSMETIC SURGERY (EYELID LIFT)

The medical term for an eyelid lift is blepharoplasty. The procedure surgically removes excess fat, muscle and skin from the upper and lower eyelids to redefine the shape of the eye.

While and eyelid lift cannot alter dark circles, fine lines or wrinkles around the eye (“crow’s feet”), it can address age-related drooping or puffy eyelids and create a more refreshed, youthful appearance. An eyelid lift can also correct drooping eyelids that are interfering with vision.

    Why it's done?

    Might be an option for:

    • Baggy or droopy upper eyelids
    • Excess skin of the upper eyelids that partially blocks peripheral vision
    • Excess skin on the lower eyelids
    • Bags under the eyes

Blepharoplasty can be done at the same time as another procedure, such as a brow lift, face-lift or skin resurfacing.

    How you prepare?

Before scheduling blepharoplasty, you’ll meet with a health care provider. Providers you meet with may include a plastic surgeon, an eye specialist (ophthalmologist), or an ophthalmologist who specialises in plastic surgery around the eyes (oculoplastic surgeon).

Once you undergo eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, you can expect to spend approximately 7 to 14 days resting and recovering. Once you reach the two-week point, you can enjoy your new, youthful-looking eye area.
